Whether you're hairy, concerned about how you look, or are just trying something new, waxing is for you. I use the highest quality professional-grade wax, such as Cirepil Hard Wax and Lycon Soft Wax to remove hair from the follicle. Except for the hair on your top of the head and beard area, the whole body can be waxed.
Benefits of Waxing
Regular waxing reduces the amount of hair that grows back. In addition, hair regrowth will take longer. The waxed area will stay totally smooth for two to three weeks.
What is Brazilian waxing?
Brazilian waxing is the removal of all pubic hair with wax. On women this includes front, underneath, and between the cheeks. For men the front, shaft, balls, underneath, and between the cheeks is included.
Does it hurt?
Because of the way pubic hair grows, the first wax is the most uncomfortable- the roots are well developed and all three cycles of hair growth can be present.
Gets much much easier after the first wax. Those roots are very shallow and get used to being pulled out. Most people find it is much easier than they anticipated.
How often do I get a wax?
The first wax will give you 2 to 3 weeks of smoothness, next wax should be 4 or 5 weeks after the first wax; this timing get the three cycles of hair growth in sync and promotes less hair growth! After that waxing appointments are every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows and how much you want to let it grow in. If you keep up on it (every 6 weeks or less) you will see a reduction in hair growth speed as well as density and volume when it grows back.
How long does the hair need to be?
We need about 1/4 inch of hair length to wax, that's 10 to 14 days after a clean shave. Longer is totally fine, even preferable in some areas. Please do not trim, I will trim you before the wax if needed to have the perfect length.
How about a drink?
Although a drink or two might calm your mind, alcohol and waxing do not mix. Increased blood flow due to alcohol consumption makes more blood rush to the wax site, that equals more pain, soreness, and potential bruising. Some aspirin or ibuprofen 30 to 45 min before your appointment is a much better alternative.
What about after?
Aftercare is simple, be clean and gentle with the area while it is sensitive. I use a post wax gel to help tighten the follicles back up and soothe the skin. First time Brazilian waxers may want to avoid intercourse for 24 hours; those who wax on a regular basis may opt to continue with their normal activities.
Some people are prone to ingrown hairs. This is avoidable by good exfoliation - use a luffa or a body scrub to gently exfoliate while in the shower. For those especially prone, I sell a professional exfoliation product you can use daily to prevent and treat ingrowns.
